The Product Library is a centrally located repository of standard products which are likely to be re-used on many projects. The library is itself stored as one large Product Breakdown Structure, and individual products or groups of products can easily be copied from the library into any project's individual Product Breakdown Structure, complete with their Product Descriptions. The p2msp software (including the free trial) comes with a ready-made product library containing the standard Prince2 management products, however the library can easily be customised and expanded to add your own best practice Product Descriptions. Another useful aspect of the Product Library is that the p2msp Product Description Form allows you to easily link to documents or folders relevant to the Product - you can specify a hyperlink for a template document or file on each Product Description Form in the Product Library. When a Project Manager later copies that product from the library into their own PBS, they can just click on the hyperlink in their Product Description to open the relevant template document.
