The essential toolkit for Prince2 & Microsoft Project

Risk Library

The Risk Library is a centrally located repository of standard risks which should be considered on every project. The library is itself stored as one large Risk Log, and individual risks or categories of risks can easily be copied from the library into any project's individual Risk Log, complete with their Risk Forms.

The p2msp software (including the free trial) comes with a ready-made risk library containing the the most common project risks and the standard Prince2 risk checklist, however the library can easily be customised and expanded to add your own risk checklists.

A project risk is captured as an Event which, if it occurred, would have an Impact - by definition the actual Event and Impact are likely to be unique to each project's circumstances. The Risk Library therefore contains items that are better described as potential sources of Risk or potential Issues, so some translation is always likely to be required when importing items from the Risk Library into a Project Risk Log.

If required, SPMS can provide consultancy services to assist your organisation in building your own customised Risk Library.
